Life would be so much easier if Andrea would just find out what the baby's gender is. Here's the box Memory Box. As with the girl one, as soon as there's a name, it will go on the bottom.

One of the baby shower gifts

Here's one of the baby shower gifts I was working on last week. It's another Memory Box. Not much to say about it except that once I have a name to go with it, the name will go across the bottom. Since my friend (who had her baby shower last Sat) isn't finding out what she's having, I had to make 2 sets of gifts. Oh brother! But, never fear, if she has a boy, I have a friend that's having a girl in May. If she has a girl, I'll have to make another girl set and keep the boy one for me!

Another Memory Box

My wonderful friend, Chris, just had a baby in January. She was another one of those annoying people that wouldn't find out the baby's gender in advance, so I had to wait for Robbie to be born before I could make him a Memory Box. (Again, this is my new go-to gift for babies, so if you're my friend and ever have a baby, this is what you're getting.) Chris just emailed me today to let me know she got it, so I can finally post pictures of it. I again didn't want to put too much "stuff" on it because I wanted it to be able to be stored on a shelf or someplace easy. I also didn't want to make it to "babyish" so Robbie can use it when he's older.

Syndee's Get Well Wishes

Last week my poor niece fell down a ravine and broke her leg in 5 places (3 complete breaks and 2 fractures). She had to have surgery and pins in her ankle, you can see the bulge in the cast around her ankle, where the pins are. She's OK, but is on bed rest for a few weeks and then in a wheel chair. It's going to be quite some time before she's able to even be on crutches. As you can see, her cast covers her entire leg. My brother said that their community and everyone at her school has sent her get well cards and I thought she might like something to keep them in.

Doesn't she look pitiful? Oh and tomorrow is her 10th birthday.
Here's the Close to my Heart Memory Keeper box I made her for her get well wishes. Unfortunately I didn't have any purple and pink paper (her favorite colors). I hope she likes it anyway!

Memory Keeper Boxes

I just love these Memory Keeper boxes from CTMH. At first I wasn't all that thrilled, but then started to see all the possibilities. WOW! The ever talented Lisa Stenz made a bunch to hold the tons and tons of cards she has. My plan is to make one for each of my kids for their momentos. I keep buying them and then keep making other things with them. I made the "Love Box" as my coworker Danette calls it, based on the CTMH webisode. I'm actually going to be doing this as a class at the end of Jan. I think it'll be a great Valentine's Day gift. I also made one to hold Thank You cards, but thinking more, I should have made the box for some other type card as I don't have that many Thank You cards. I guess I should make some, huh?








Normally, I'm all about dimension. Rarely is anything I make flat. I decided to make the Thank You card box flat so a bunch of them could go on the shelf. It's hard not to add something, just a button or two! But, I'm holding strong and am going to do my best not to add anything else.
