My baby

My baby is now 2 and I have no idea where the last 2 years went. Again, another simple layout, this one has some hidden journalling behind the top picture of my thoughts about the last 2 years with Aaron. Maybe when he's a teenager and thinks his parents are mean, he'll read it and know how much he's loved.

I did it!

Here's another one of Brandi's Simple Sunday layouts. I love them because you can just whip them out and get a lot done. The concept is simple. Don't get so caught up in the layout, remember it's about telling the story, not the number of embellishments you can get on your page. Not that there aren't times when lots aren't good, but they don't all have to be that way.

Anyway, Leo was so proud of himself that he drew a heart on his Magna Doodle. It actually looks like a heart! Not too bad for a 3 1/2 year old. (The picture is a few months old, I just haven't had time to scrap it yet)

First Love

Leo has this little friend from preschool, Chloe. The two of them were inseparable and were always holding hands. Apparently, Leo took her under his wing since she was just 3 and he was almost 4. Sadly, Chloe moved this summer so won't be coming back to school. His teacher, Ms Andrea, or Ms "Andra" as he says, took "buddy" pictures of the kids and of course, Leo had to have his taken with Chloe.

Ready, Set, Go!

This is a very simple layout a la Brandi's Simple Sundays. I just loved the picture and didn't want anything to distract from it and my journaling. Not much needs to be said about it.

Aaron takes after me in that he wakes up ready to conquer the world. (Unlike Leo and Martel, who have to ease into their day). He grabs his blanket and Lion takes off running down the hall in the morning, dragging his blanket behind him. I try and get him to hold it up higher so it doesn't get dirty, but that doesn't happen. He's just full of life and as tired as I may be sometimes, I wouldn't change it.

Supplies used: Bazzil Bling cardstock, Thickers Alpha stickers, Around the Block paper

Squishy Face

Oops, I found one more of the Simple Sunday layouts. This one is another Inspired Blueprint sketch. I could't get the journaling how I wanted it, so I tucked it under the pictures. Aaron does this thing that he thinks is cute. He smiles and squishes up his face, then he slowly opens one eye, just to see if you're looking. I guess it is kind of cute.

Edited to note that I know that I left out the "h." It's been fixed. :)

Crashed

Here's the last of the 4 layouts I whipped out the other day. This is another of Brandi's Simple Sunday concepts. By the time I got to this one, I was pretty done, but I had the Stardust paper out and wanted to use it for this layout too. Leo usually goes and goes and goes. On occasion, he just crashes. When he does, he's in the most ackward looking positions. I would have had a stiff neck if I slept like this.

I {heart} This Face

I actually squeeked out some time for myself today to scrapbook. Brandi has a Simple Sunday challenge, basically to realize that you don't have to spend hours upon hours on a single layout. So with that philosophy in mind, and the help of some sketch blogs, I cranked out 4 pages in about 2 hours. I'll be posting one a day for the next few days. That way, I'll have some time to get more stuff done. I hope.

This is an Inspired Blueprints sketch, the first one actually. I never got around to doing it, but gave it a shot with this picture of Aaron. Rarely does he "smile" for the camera. He normally does this funky eye squint thing that he thinks is cute. (That page will be coming soon) I hope you enjoy these simple layouts.

Supplies used: Bazzil Bling Cardstock (some color brown), Bazzil curvy edged textured cardstock, CTMH Cocoa Cafe Papers, Giggle Alpha, and a misc chipboard heart.
